What is Espresso Powder?
As time goes by, people want to waste less and less and thus preserve the environment. One of the ways you can do this is to “recycle” used coffee grounds. Most people think that espresso powders can only be used to make delicious espresso, but this isn’t true. There are many other “supplementary” uses of used coffee powder.
This type of coffee powder, known as instant espresso powder, is rarely used these days, as, unfortunately, this powder makes for a pretty weak cup of everyone’s favorite caffeine drink. However, the so-called espresso powder can be used for all sorts of purposes. This thing is very useful in the home kitchen and it is usually made of dark Italian roast.
How is Espresso Kitchen Powder Made?
Making this type of espresso powder is pretty straightforward- you begin as you normally would- by brewing regular espresso. After you’ve finished, don’t throw away the brewed grounds. Simply dry them up, after which you should crush the dry coffee mass and eventually grind it a bit more.
What you want to get is very fine coffee powder. Needless to say, considering that these grounds already passed through the brewing process, making coffee from this kind of espresso powder is perhaps not a good idea, at least if you like a strong cup of coffee.
If you are the do-it-yourself type of person, you don’t even have to search for the best espresso powder brand! You can simply follow the procedure given earlier and get a perfectly fine baking coffee powder.
What is the average price of espresso powder? Prices go from 4$ to 15$ per powder, and most cost about 8 or 9 bucks, for a small can or bottle of this product.
This type of powder has many uses, many you wouldn’t believe.
Some people may even like the coffee made from this type of powder, but it isn’t generally used for coffee-brewing. Other people like to add the espresso powder to their cake recipe which would probably be one of its most common purposes. Another common purpose is food seasoning, decoration of plates, and even steak seasoning.
Who makes the best espresso powder? In our opinion, Medaglia D’Oro is by far the best producer of this kitchen-use coffee powder.
