Who would think that a combination of espresso and steamed milk would be so tasty and pleasant? With its wide palette of colors- beige, light, brown- cappuccino is also quite a sight, besides having a nice foamy texture.
What is a cappuccino?
A special blend of espresso and steamed/foamed milk.
To get the best cappuccino, you’d need to follow all the steps- making an espresso, steaming the milk, mixing it with espresso so that two don’t coalesce too soon… There are actually more ways you can fail than do it right- I’m probably the first person who wouldn’t fail to mess up the whole process time and time again. Thankfully we have fabulous cappuccino makers to make this beautiful beverage for us.
Before we go on to enumerate and briefly explain the best cappuccino machines, we’ll touch upon some of the most relevant topics concerning cappuccinos.
Cappuccino was made way back, centuries ago, but it became popular in the 20th century. American soldiers who came to Italy and tried espresso for the first time found cappuccino’s mild taste more acceptable (and other coffees that combine espresso and milk). Italians love their espressos nice, dark, and strong, but a lot of people can’t stand the bitterness- this is essentially how cappuccino and latte were born.

Cappuccino vs Latte: What’s The Difference?
Back in the day when I was just a coffee noob, I thought cappuccino and latte were the same thing. I wasn’t that far away though- milk (latte in Italian) is an important ingredient of both cappuccinos and caffe lattes (sometimes it’s called cafe au lait). Both drinks have steamed milk and foamed milk but in different proportions.
The main difference was, the latte has way more milk while (both steamed milk and foam). Cappuccino also has the distinct “levels” of foam and espresso. On the other hand, if you want to make a latte you would blend the milk and espresso. In other words, caffe latte has a more even texture. Latte has more calories as it contains more milk than a cappuccino.
There are also some special differences between cappuccino and latte macchiato, but we won’t go into details here.
Best Cappuccino Coffee Makers
It’s safe to say that there aren’t really many machines that only make cappuccino. Why? It’s quite simple- to first make this drink you need espresso. This is why all the coffee machines we mention will be able to make various kinds of coffee beverages.
The best cappuccino maker is most certainly Phillips 3200. Honestly, I feel a bit bad because it took me so long to find this one. I’ve been searching for the best coffee machines for quite a while now, and only recently I came across Phillips 3200. Better late than never! This cappuccino maker is absolutely fascinating- I have rarely seen customers being so unanimous when it comes to the quality of a product they bought. There are some bad reviews, but these guys are giving pieces of advice on how to improve a coffee machine that’s already great. So even reviews that contain critique are actually constructive.
The second best is Mr.Coffee Cappuccino maker. This one doesn’t have all the features of Phillips 3200, but it’s more affordable. Moreover, it will still make a great cappuccino- and this is one of the most popular coffee machines on the market.

Okay, despite what I said in the earlier paragraph, we can still say that Mr.Coffee machine somewhat specializes in making cappuccino.
This is a semi-automatic machine and it will make 3 different drinks- espresso, cappuccino, and latte. The holy trinity of coffee. What’s the difference between semi-automatics and full auto? Full auto has a more rapid fire. Just kidding. To make a long story short- semi-automatics necessitate more work from your side- using a tamper, grinding coffee beans separately from the machine, etc.
Mr.Coffee has a nice one-touch panel- with this you’ll select drinks. Not sure why it’s called “one-touch” because you’ll most certainly have to touch it more than once, but who cares.
This machine is easy to use- it has removable milk and water reservoir for easy cleaning and handling. Do not wash the reservoir in the dishwasher, Mr.Coffee is quite adamant about that.
Finally, you have a fabulous frothing tube for that nice milk foam. Just make sure to clean it after each use to avoid those nasty coffee stains.
- Great frother means great milk foam!
- Will also make latte
- Easy to use, handle, and clean
- This is a compact cappuccino machine
- Honestly it’s a bit more expensive than one would expect (this is a semi automatic coffee machine after all)

What got my attention are the looks of Esperta 2. It looks like they got it from some spaceship. I don’t know if aliens drink coffee, but they most surely will when they see Esperta 2. This is a fully automatic coffee machine that uses pods. These pods have become quite popular recently, and I have to say they make it a lot easier for us to get our daily caffeine dose.
You’ll actually get 17 different flavors and beverages (cappuccino, americano, etc.). This is where pod machines introduce a novelty that classic machines simply cannot compete with. You can practically have an infinite variation of flavors, as long as you have new pods.
Esperta 2 has a nice and intuitive interface- it has 7 levels so it’s not the simplest ever.
This cappuccino machine has 17 bars of pressure which will ensure the ideal extraction of all those oils, aromas, and flavors. Wait, they were already extracted so they can be put in pods? Yeah, anyway, the extraction is there.
There’s a warning that comes with this product, according to which there are some small magnets within the machine. If you’re really stubborn and swallow a few of them, they’ll stick together in your stomach and cause even more carnage. So pay attention to these little magnets.
Esperta is somewhat big (compared to other Nescafe machines), with 60 ounces water tank. It’s still quite compact for general standards so I would regard this as a plus.
- Practically infinite variety in terms of drinks- most importantly it will make cappuccinos in all sizes, forms, tastes and aromas
- Easy to use, no hassle with tampers, frothers, etc. The machine does everything for you
- Versatile and good-quality
- Quite affordable for a machine with this many options and functions
- Some customers complain about the heat aspect- coffees can sometimes be too cool

This must be one of the fastest machines I have ever seen! This cappuccino machine will make your favorite beverage in just 45 seconds. Thanks to a 15 bar pump, you will have no problems in making delicious espresso- and even other drinks, like, for instance, Americanos or Macchiatos.
You can also choose between a single shot and double-shot options. The water tank is easily removable- cleaning and maintenance were never this easy. Speaking of the water tank, it will hold about 1.25 l of water which is a lot considering the compactness of this cappuccino maker.
This is an “All-In-One” product, which means that you have all the ingredients- portafilter, electric grinder, frothing cup (stainless steel), spoon for measuring, and the tamper. Too often it happens so that you buy a product only to find out that you need to make additional purchases in order to make it work.
This machine has an auto-off feature, and it will turn off exactly after 25 minutes of idleness.
- All-In-One for a great price
- Extremely quick- probably one of the fastest machines on the market
- Great customer service (replacing broken parts, etc.)
- Manual frothing wand allows you to customize the frothing process
- Real espresso-heads might find shots made by this product a bit weak and watery
- Quickness

This is a win-win coffee machine- one the one side, you have the Italian style- espresso, cappuccino, and of course latte. On the other side, there’s the regular coffee for all those who like to keep it a bit simpler.
De’Lognhi cappuccino machine has the so-called “Flavor Savor” system which is designed to get that coffee essence and keep all the essential oils and flavors.
There’s a reason I chose this product- it has a special, advanced cappuccino system, designed to provide only the best and highest-quality foam. And we all know that milk foam is probably the most important element of a good cappuccino.
Thanks to a special carbon filter, you’ll only drink purified beverages (that is if you opt for De’Longhi cappuccino machine). And yes, the coffee filter is included in the standard package, so you won’t have to purchase it separately.
You’ll receive not only a large water tank but also a large, 10-cup carafe that should be enough for all your guests. There’s also the Brew Pause feature- if you want to pour coffee before the brewing cycle is finished.
A cup-warmer is an indispensable tool for every serious barista, and De’Longhi features a nice cup warmer that will add that finishing touch to your coffee-brewing skills.
Finally, this De’Longhi machine has a 24-hour timer- great for those of you who love to be punctual and have a strict schedule.
- Specialized for making delicious cappuccinos
- 24-hour timer
- Cup-heater
- Some people complain about the usual stuff- espresso not being hot enough, other than that, everything seems to be fine

Here’s just a shortlist of all the beverages Philips 3200 will make- Espresso, cappuccino, regular coffee, latte, americano... It’s funny to see that most manufacturers include “hot water” as one of the beverages that their machine makes- I wouldn’t brag about this as you kind of expect a coffee machine to be able to make hot water.
Anyhow, Philips 3200 is a nice surprise on the market, since we don’t really see Philips products that often nowadays. Indeed, this one comes with a hefty price tag to it, but it’s totally worth it! First of all, it has an impeccable touch screen display. With 3 strength settings, you’ll be able to meet the tastes of all your guests.
There’s a lot of different lengths you can choose- and we all know that length is extremely important with drinks like latte.
LatteGo milk system is patented by Philips- this system mixes air and milk, making the best foamy layer of milk you’ve ever seen. This is also an extremely simple system- it only has 2 parts and it will be cleaned in just 15 seconds. There are probably no other cappuccino machines on the market that can top this!
The grinders on Philips 3200 are ceramic and it will last at least 20,000 cups before you have to change the burrs. The grinder itself has 12 different steps- which is absolutely flabbergasting.
Whether you want the finest powder coffee, or something as coarse as the temper of your mother-in-law, you’ll be able to get it.
- Incredibly versatile and high-quality grinder
- Simple yet efficient milk frothing system (cleaning under 15 seconds)
- Great beverage versatility
- It’s a bit on the expensive side
- The machine will turn itself off after 15 minutes of idleness, and you’ll have to wait for it to warm back up again which takes time
